1. What is the sign language avatar?
The latest generation of sign language avatars is increasingly appearing on the websites of local authorities and companies. We are using the latest technology and artificial intelligence to develop a technique that enables local authorities and companies to translate their content into German sign language. By using the avatar, local authorities and companies can make a wide range of services available in German sign language on their websites. These include information on everything from applying for ID cards to planning leisure activities. The data used for this purpose is recorded exclusively by deaf people.

2. What is a beta version?
The videos you can see are generated using 3D animation and were created with software technology that is currently in beta. A beta version is a version that is not yet fully complete. Its basic functions are usable, but it is still being developed. The appearance of the sign language avatar is being improved gradually.

3. What is the quality like?
Since we are developing very extensive and new technology that uses artificial intelligence, we need a lot of data. This will then enable automatic translations of text into sign language. It may be that some videos are not yet easy to understand, but they will be improved in the next few days. However, we guarantee that we will continue to work on this until the quality is such that everything can be easily understood. Research and development takes time. We want to gather as much information as possible in order to implement the development of artificial intelligence in the best possible way. We are working closely with deaf language experts who are contributing their knowledge to the development process.

4. How can you support us?
We need your help. If you don't understand something or if a sign or translation is incorrect, please feel free to contact us. Send us your questions, information, criticism, or suggestions for improvement here or via Instagram. Our sign language experts will then address your concerns. These are deaf colleagues who have a deep understanding of language and linguistics.
