5 tips: Integrating sign language videos in an accessible way

To ensure that your sign language content reaches your target audience, we have compiled five tips for presenting content in an accessible way:

1. Quick accessibility
If a deaf person visits your website, they should be able to access the sign language videos with as few clicks as possible.

2. Dedicated section in the header
Ideally, there should be a separate menu item on the home page that leads directly to the videos.

3. Visual highlighting
Even with simple menu items, it can be difficult to find the right button straight away. Therefore, mark the sign language section of the website with an additional icon. You can download a sign language icon HERE.

4. Structure of the sign language page
Avoid long introductory texts and place explanations at the end of the page. If users have to scroll down to the video elements, they are more difficult to find.

5. Structure content
Make sure the videos are in the correct order. Subheadings can provide a better overview.
